For obtain a Mexican eVisa, you will have to present requirements:

Tourist Card Requirements:
Whether you require a tourist card by land or air, the requirements will be more or less similar, other than some differences related to supporting documents. To obtain an FMM, foreign visitors will have to complete an application form before travelling to Mexico. After providing the necessary information, paying the visa fees and submitting the required travel documents, the applicant will receive the FMM by email. Once received, it is essential to get a print of the document and show it to the border officials.
What do you need to apply for Online Mexico Tourist Card?
Foreign nationals need to have the following documents/items:
- A passport or any identification document. (standard passport for those applying for a tourist card air, and passport card or passport for those who require a tourist card land.
- Email address where the approved tourist card will be sent.
- A valid debit or credit card to pay the fees.
- An air ticket- A ticket is required if you are travelling by air and applying for a tourist card air. If you are applying for tourist card land, ignore this requirement.
Exceptions:
There are some exceptions to the tourist card requirements. If you belong to a country that does not fall into the list of visa-exempt countries and obtaining a tourist visa to enter Mexico is mandatory, there are certain situations when you don’t need to obtain the tourist card. This will be applicable if you have any of the following documents:
- A valid European Union or Schengen area country visa.
- A Canadian visa.
- A Japanese Visa.
- A UK visa.
- A USA visa.
- You hold permanent residency in Chile, Canada, Colombia, Japan, any European Union or Schengen area country, Peru, UK, or the USA.
Validity
Tourist card land and tourist card air both are issued for up to 180 days. It is a single-entry travel permit, which will allow the cardholder to enter Mexico either via land or air. The card’s validity
will start from the time the immigration seal is stamped after the traveller arrives at a Mexican port of entry. The tourist card land and air both can be used just once, as these are valid for a single entry.
Tourist Card (air) Port of Entry:
If arriving in Mexico with a tourist card air, you can enter the country visa some selected airports. The list of approved airports is available on this page. When flying to Los Cabos International Airport, it is mandatory to keep a double-sided print of the tourist card air on a piece of paper.
Who Needs a Mexico Tourist Card?
A Mexico Tourist Card, also known as a Forma Migratoria Múltiple (FMM), is required for all foreign nationals visiting Mexico for tourism, transit, or business purposes, regardless of their nationality.
The only exception is for travelers who are in possession of a valid Mexican visa or a resident card issued by Mexico. Additionally, travelers who are transiting through Mexico to another country are also exempt from the FMM requirement, provided that they do not leave the airport transit area.
It is important to note that the Mexico Tourist Card is not a visa, and it does not allow the holder to work or engage in any kind of remunerated activity while in Mexico.
Important Guidelines:
- When you arrive in Mexico, you must show the same passport or other travel documents that you used when applying for the tourist card.
- Passport cards can be used when arriving in Mexico through a land border crossing.
- Travellers arriving via air will use a standard booklet-style passport when travelling to Mexico.
- Get your tourist card stamped when passing through immigration. Without stamping, the tourist card will not be considered valid.
- Always write down the FMM number. The information will be useful in case the card gets stolen or lost.
- After you have taken a print out of the approved tourist card, it is necessary to get it stamped within one month or thirty days to make it valid.
- The immigration office will enter the entry date when stamping the tourist card. Your card’s validity will be determined from that day onwards. The card will stay valid for six months or 180 days from the date of your arrival in Mexico.
