Types of Qatar Visas and Information:

To visit Qatar, you can obtain a short-term visa such as a Tourist visa or E-visa for temporary reasons like tourism or business. If you want to stay longer, you can apply for a residence permit after arriving in Qatar. Most countries have a visa-free regime, but if you are not exempt, you can apply for a Qatar E-visa. There are several types of visas available for those wishing to enter Qatar. The most common types include :-

  • Qatar E-Visa: If you are not exempt from a visa or not eligible for Visa on Arrival, you can apply for a Qatar E-visa (excluding Israel, Egypt, Kosovo, and Palestine nationals). The E-visa is valid for 30 days and is for single-entry. You can extend it for an additional 30 days within Qatar.

  • Qatar Visa Extension: You can extend your Qatar E-visa for an additional 30 days within Qatar online through the Qatar visa website. Simply enter your passport and visa number, choose the extension period, and pay the QAR 200 fee (about 55 USD). Visa-exempted nationals can also apply for a visa extension for an extra 30 days through the same online application within Qatar.

  • Qatar Transit Visa: Foreign citizens who require a visa to enter Qatar can transit through the airport without a visa for up to 5 hours, but must remain within the transfer lounge. For longer transit periods and to leave the airport, an approved transit visa is required. The Qatar Transit visa is free and valid for 96 hours, but cannot be extended.
