Who Needs a Visa to Visit Wallis and Futuna?
Wallis and Futuna are not part of the European Union or the Schengen Area, but certain visa regulations are applied to citizens of these countries. On the other hand, nationals of countries that are not part of the EU or Schengen Area need to obtain a visa before traveling to Wallis and Futuna. If you are a visa-required national, you need to apply for a visa at France diplomatic missions (embassies/consulates). However, citizens of Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu can enter Wallis and Futuna without a visa and stay for up to 90 days within a 6-month period.
What Types of Visas are Available for Wallis and Futuna?
If you're a visa-required national, you need to obtain a separate visa to Wallis and Futuna from France diplomatic missions. You need to obtain a special wording visa to clarify the validity territory that must be indicated on the visa. You cannot travel to France or other Schengen countries with a visa valid for Wallis and Futuna only. So, if you need a visa to travel to France, you will also require a visa beforehand for entering Wallis and Futuna.

If you're holding a valid Long-stay (“D” type”) visa or Residence Permit issued by France or other Schengen countries, you can enter Wallis and Futuna without obtaining a new visa and stay for up to 90 days within a 6-month period. Nationals of certain countries can also travel to Wallis and Futuna without obtaining a new visa if they are holding a valid multiple-entry visa (Schengen included) with a validity of more than 6 months issued by France.
