Applying for student Italian visa when my polish visa is expired and I am waiting for the temporary residence card

I am currently a first year medical student in poland already. However, I got accepted by IMAT exam to Marche polytechnic University in Ancona, Italy. I hold the Yemeni passport but I reside and live in Saudi Arabia originally. When I came to Poland, I applied for visa and got it, but it expired in July. I applied to my TRC earlier this year and until now I'm still waiting for my TRC. However, I really wish to switch and go to the Italian University. Therefore, I want to ask if its possible to apply for the visa from poland directly or do I have to go back to saudi to apply for it. I cant find clear instructions on how to solve this issue. Of course, if I am eligible to apply from poland, I'd rather do this than leave and go to saudi because there will be other issues regarding my trc and legality in poland. Please guide me and thank you so much
