Hong Kong Police Clearance Certificate

By Craig Gibbons   For Hong Kong Jul 29,2025

I am based in singapore and need to obtain a Hong Kong police certificate of compliance for the purpose of an Australian Citizenship application. I need to get a verified original of my fingerprints to do this. Can the HK embassy verify my fingerprints?

Hey Craig, I actually came across this situation once when a friend of mine in Singapore needed a Hong Kong Police Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) for his Australian visa — so here’s what we found out. The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office or Consulate in Singapore doesn’t provide fingerprint verification or collection services directly. You’ll need to have your fingerprints taken and verified by a recognized local authority — for example, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) or a licensed fingerprinting agency. Once your fingerprints are officially stamped and verified in Singapore, you can then send them along with your CNCC application to the Hong Kong Police Force (CRB Office) in Hong Kong. They will process it and issue the certificate directly to the Australian authorities or the address you specify. It’s a bit of a process, but if your prints are properly certified, it usually goes quite smoothly. Hope that helps, and good luck with your citizenship application!
