Inquiry on Visa Processing
By Cynthia Lungu For Bosnia and Herzegovina Aug 20,2025I am a Zambian intending to apply for a Type D Visa to Bosnia. Please advise if i can apply for this type of visa without visiting a visa office for an in-person interview. And if not which Country is authorized to process Bosnia Visas for Zambians?!

Hi Cynthia, From what I understand, a Type D visa for Bosnia usually requires an in-person submission at a visa application center or the Bosnian embassy/consulate. Unfortunately, it’s generally not possible to apply entirely online without appearing in person, as biometric data and supporting documents are typically required. For Zambian citizens, Bosnia doesn’t have an embassy in Zambia. In such cases, visa applications are often handled by Bosnia’s embassy or consulate in a neighboring country. Some sources suggest that the Bosnian Embassy in South Africa can process applications for Zambians, but I’d recommend confirming this directly with the embassy. Contact details of the embassy can be found here: https://visa-to-travel.com/embassy-and-consulate/worldwide It’s a bit of a process, but starting early and contacting the authorized embassy is the safest way.
