Lithuania is known for its historical and monumental sites acknowledged by UNESCO multiple times. The country is rich in both culture and geographics that fascinate travelers around the world. Lithuania is one of the 25 countries that joined the Schengen Agreement to eliminate the need for a passport in traveling within the Schengen Area. The agreement aims to strengthen the ties across European borders. Eligible travelers must present a National ID to border authorities. They can stay in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days.
The country issues different types of visas depending on the purpose of travel and duration of stay. Visa-free nationals who intend to stay for a short period must pre-register in ETIAS online. It will serve as a visa waiver at the point of entry starting 2025.
Other nationals not included in the visa-free category should apply directly at the nearest Lithuanian embassy. They must submit embassy visa applications at least two weeks before the intended travel date.
