Visa to Uzbekistan

Before anything else, there are some visa policies in Uzbekistan as in any other country. There are even some common requirements and conditions in order to become an eligible candidate to apply for a visa. All the information will be stated below. It is highly recommended that you read through the whole article before you proceed with the application.

Visa Exemption

Visa-exemption policy is a system where you do not need a visa to travel under some specific conditions. Here the applicant only needs his/her passport/National ID and some other requirements. For Uzbekistan, the citizens of the following countries fall in the visa-exemption category:

30 Days	European Union, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the Vatican City.

Visa-free Transit

Foreign citizens who transit via Uzbek airport will not need a visa if their stay is less than 5 days. The citizens of the following countries can get a visa-free transit.

Visa Requirements and Conditions

The requirements and conditions of a visa are dependent on the type of visa. But almost every type of visa ask for similar requirements, so these are common. The requirements for filing a visa form are:

• An updated passport with some blank pages, including its scanned copy
• A passport-size picture of the applicant, taken against a white plain background including its scanned copy
• An invitation from an Uzbek authority (conditional)
• Contact information of the applicant (phone no., email address etc.)

Visa Types

There are various types of visa available based on your purpose of visit. Those are explained in brief below.

• 1. Tourist Visa

  It is a visa for the sole purpose of tourism. It can be obtained via online or through Embassy.

• 2. Visa on arrival

  This visa can be obtained upon arrival to the International airport of Tashkent. Both Single and multiple entries are possible.

• 3. Transit Visa

  If anyone needs to transit through Uzbekistan for a different destination, he/she may apply for this visa.

• 4. Business Visa

  This is applicable for individuals who visit for the purpose of business. The validity is up to 1 year.

• 5. Visa for Children

  Children who are under the age of 16 do not need a visa to enter into Uzbekistan’s territory. They are to be registered in the parents’ visa application form.

• 6. Vatandosh

  This for the family of a person residing in Uzbekistan. The validity is up to 2 years.

• 7. Student and Academic Visa

  This visa is applicable to foreign students studying in Uzbekistan. It is 1 year long and the student must be enrolled in an educational institute of Uzbekistan.

• 8. Medical Visa

  This is a visa for up to 3 months for foreigners who intend to take medical treatment from Uzbekistan.

• 9. Pilgrim VIsa

  This is for the foreign citizens who intend to visit Uzbekistan for the purpose of acquiring knowledge about Uzbekistan’s religion and culture. The time limit is up to 2 months. An eligible applicant must have an invitation from an Uzbek authority.

Countries eligible for an E-Visa

E-visa is the easiest among all other types of method in case of visa application. Along with the common requirements, an applicant just needs a laptop/smartphone, and an internet connection to apply. However, it is better to apply via laptop. Not all countries are allowed for an E-Visa. The following 76 countries are eligible.

• Review the information you entered for accuracy.
• To fill a form for a next person (for group and in same visa data, up to 15 persons) press Add Next Person.
• Press the Print form button for printing.
• Print the form after it is returned to you and displayed in Adobe Acrobat and submit it to the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
