Pakistan offers the Visa on Arrival to a range of countries in different categories that allows their nationals to make an online application, submit the fee, and get their ETA – an Electronic Travel Authorization. ETA permits the applicants to enter the country without a visa.

Applicants often prefer to get a Visa on Arrival as it takes lesser processing time for approval than an ordinary visa. But upon arriving at the airport, the applicant has to show up at a special Visa on Arrival Counter and present the ETA to get their valid visa.

Pakistan Visa Type:

Pakistan offers e-Visa in various types such as tourism, business, work, study, family visit, NGO Visa, etc. However, Visa on Arrival is currently allowed for only two categories:

• Tourist Visa on Arrival
• Business Visa on Arrival

Pakistan Eligible Countries:

The eligibility criteria are different for both of the categories.

For tourism Visa on Arrival:

• The nationals of 50 countries are eligible to apply.
• Foreign nationals of Indian Origin can apply for Visa on Arrival to visit Pakistan religious tourism sites.

For Business Visa on Arrival, the nationals of the following 95 countries can make the application. Check out the eligibility of your country here.

Visa Process:

We recommend the applicants to submit an online application at least 72 hours before the intended arrival time to get their ETA.

The application processing time may take from 48 to 72 hours.

While filing in the entries of the application form, you must select:

Visa in your Inbox in the Visa Category.

Tourist or Business in the Visa Subcategory.

Visa Validity:

The Tourist and Business Visa on Arrival are valid for 30 days.

The citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and UAE can apply for Multiple Entries Visa on Arrival for the same validity.

Pakistan Visa Required Documents:

For Tourist Visa on Arrival:

As for a tourist applying for Visa on Arrival, the applicant will upload the following documents on the portal.

• Passport Sized Photograph
• Copy of Passport
• If the tourist is applying on an individual basis, he must attach:
  • Invitation Letter by the sponsor
    

    or

  • Details of the hotel booking

In the case of a group,

an Invitation Letter by the licensed tour operator assigned by the Department of Tourist Services.

For Business Visa on Arrival:

The applicant for a Business visa needs to upload the following documents in the application.

• Passport Sized Photograph
• Copy of Passport
• Proof of the registration of the company that is inviting you for business. An SECP (Securities and Exchange Commission Pakistan) Recognition or Chamber of Commerce Certificate is acceptable in this regard.
• Any document from the following:
  • Recommendation letter forwarded by the Board of Investment's honorary investment counsellor or Commercial Attaché
  • Invitation letter from the business organization officially recommended by concerned trade organization in Pakistan.
  • Recommendation letter by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry CC&I of the applicant's country

If you are applying from a third country, then you need to upload Proof of Legal Residence. You can upload this document as Other in Supporting Documents in the document uploading section.

Covid Update:

Pakistan has relaxed the strict restrictions previously regulated due to the outbreak of Corona.

Now, the applicant does not need to produce a negative PCR test. Self-quarantine is also no more required. However, the visitors must follow all the safety precautions like wearing the mask, sanitizing hands, social distancing, etc.

FAQ

1. What is ETA?

ETA -electronic Authorization to Travel (ETA) is the travel document emailed to the applicants of Visa on Arrival.

Applicant must note that ETA is not necessarily the visa. It is just a document that authorizes you to enter the country.

2. Can I take my family with me while I am on a business trip?

Pakistan offers the travelers from various countries an Taking the family on a business trip is allowed. However, you have to mention the names and data of your family members in the application form.

3. Do I need to fill the separate application form for my family members?

To mention the names of family members in your application does not mean that you have applied on their behalf. The family members need to submit their separate application forms.

4. What should I do when I land at the airport in Pakistan?

You may find the Visa-on-Arrival counter and show your ETA to the staff member to get a valid visa.

5. How long would it take at the Visa-on-Arrival Counter?

It may take half an hour for the process, from getting into the queues to taking the visa in your hands. But generally, it depends on how busy or vacant the airport is.
