Starting May 26, 2025, Saint Kitts and Nevis is taking a bold step in travel technology. The government has introduced a new Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system, making entry into this Caribbean twin-island country faster, easier, and more secure.

What’s New About the eTA?
The new eTA lets travellers complete all the paperwork online before they even board their flight. The goal? Make the whole journey smoother and cut down the time spent at the airport.
It also adds another layer of security by allowing authorities to check travellers before they arrive.
- Every visitor must have their approved eTA in hand before leaving their home country, and show it again when they reach Saint Kitts and Nevis.
- The online form is quick and user-friendly, taking about five minutes from start to finish.
- The system supports several languages, so people from all over can apply without any hassle.
Easy Application, Simple Steps
- Fill out a secure eTA application online
- Share your basic travel details and upload the needed documents
- Wait for approval, which you’ll get by email
Travellers can send in their eTA application up to 90 days ahead of their trip. If you apply before September 1, 2025, you’ll pay a reduced service fee. From that date forward, the regular fee will apply.
Once approved, the eTA is valid for 90 days or until your passport runs out, whichever comes first.
Travel Tech for the Modern Era
The new eTA isn’t just about convenience; it marks a leap forward in how Saint Kitts and Nevis handles tourism and border security.
Here’s what changes:
- Better Security: The eTA screens travellers before they land, making it easier to spot and stop risks early.
- Less Waiting: Immigration lines will move faster since much of the process is digital.
- All-in-One Digital Tools: The eTA connects with other services, like online customs forms and even buying a local SIM card.
- More Efficient Borders: Less paperwork means border staff can focus on the important stuff.
- Boost for Tourism and Jobs: By making visits easier, the country hopes to draw in more tourists, growing opportunities in hotels, transport, and other travel-related jobs.

Who Doesn’t Need an eTA?
If you’re a citizen or resident of Saint Kitts and Nevis or from another OECS (Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States) country, you’re off the hook for the eTA. You’ll just need to complete the usual Online Immigration and Customs ED Form, which stays free for you.
