Vacation Easier Than Ever for Kosovars with Visa-Free Access to the UAE

In a significant diplomatic development, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has forged a landmark agreement with Kosovo, eliminating entry visa requirements for those holding a Kosovo passport. This groundbreaking announcement was made public by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, marking a notable stride in international relations.
The genesis of this pivotal decision can be traced back to a high-level meeting between President Osmani and the President of the UAE, Mohamed Bin Zayed. The discussions, as reported by VisaGuide.World, culminated in a mutual understanding to lift visa restrictions for Kosovo citizens, symbolising a deepening of ties between the two nations.
The Impact of The UAE-Kosovo Visa-Free Agreement

Expressing gratitude for this significant diplomatic accomplishment, President Osmani lauded His Highness Mohamed Bin Zayed for endorsing her proposal to waive visa requirements for Kosovo nationals. She highlighted that the agreement, which was formalised during their meeting the previous month, symbolises diplomatic success and paves the way for enhanced cooperation and interaction between the citizens of both countries.
The announcement was received with widespread enthusiasm among Kosovo citizens, who took to social media platforms to celebrate and commend President Osmani for this diplomatic triumph.

Kosovo's Passport Power Surge
The year 2024 began on a high note for Kosovo citizens, who were granted visa-free access to the Schengen Area Member states from January 1st. This milestone was reached after a prolonged 12-year journey towards achieving this objective. The fruition of these efforts has led to a remarkable surge in the global standing of the Kosovo passport. According to the Visa Guide Passport Power Index, the Kosovo passport leapt an impressive 90 positions in a month, soaring from the 188th spot in December 2023 to the 98th in January 2024.
Besart Bajrami, the founder of VisaGuide. The world described this ascent in the index as a "historic" achievement. He emphasised the transformative power of the European Union in bolstering the strength of a passport virtually overnight, reflecting on the profound impact of EU policies on international travel dynamics.
Spain's Recognises Kosovo Passports for Visa-Free Travel
In a related development, following Kosovo’s visa liberalisation with the Schengen Area, Spain, a nation that previously did not recognise Kosovo as an independent country, has revised its stance to acknowledge Kosovo passports. This policy shift grants Kosovo passport holders the freedom to travel to Spain without a visa. Additionally, four other EU countries – Greece, Romania, Cyprus, and Slovakia – despite not recognising Kosovo's independence, have agreed to accept its passports for travel purposes.
With the UAE joining the list of countries offering visa-free entry to Kosovars, there is growing anticipation that the Kosovo passport will continue its upward trajectory in the Visa Guide Index, potentially gaining even more positions in February 2024. This series of diplomatic victories reflects Kosovo's growing international presence and signifies the evolving landscape of global travel and cooperation.
