Vietnam Tourist Visa Application Guide and Entry Requirements

Vietnam Tourist Visa Application

Hey, guys what's happening? It's Lissa here. And this morning, I got some great news. I received an approval letter for my 30-day visa or e-visa for Vietnam. I booked my flight. I've got my accommodation. And in this, I'm going to share exactly how you can apply for your e-visa and exactly what the entry requirements are for Vietnam right now. So without further ado, let's jump right into today's content. Now over the last few weeks in the lead up to the opening of Vietnam, there's been so much hearsay about exactly what the requirements are, and what visas are going to be allowed. There have been so many proposed proposals that it's been hard to keep up with. And I've really held back from making too much content on this topic until I've got some personal experience.

Vietnam opened for tourism on March 15th:

So I'm glad to say that this video brings good news. For those of you thinking about traveling to Vietnam. After two years of border closures and uncertainty, Vietnam opened for tourism on March 15th. And in this content, I'm really going to focus on two main areas:

  1. How to get yourselves, a visa to travel to Vietnam?
  2. What the requirements are for you to enter Vietnam regarding paperwork, vaccine, certificates, tasks, and things such as that.

So on the 15th of March, so three days ago at the time of recording Vietnam announced that people from this list of 15 countries are able to enter Vietnam with no visa. So the visa exemption scheme has started back up again. So if you offer them that list of 15 countries, you can travel to Vietnam for 14 days with no visa. Now, if you want to stay for longer than 14 days, or if you are not from that list of 15 countries, the other option is the e-visa.

Vietnam e-Visa:

Now the e-visa allows you to stay for 30 days and it is available for people from a list of 80 countries. Now you can find more information on the Vietnam e-visa. So now you can get fast access to it. It's really simple to apply for the visa, all you need to do is navigate your way to the application page, and upload a picture of your passport and a picture of yourself. Enter a few details. The cost depends on the country and visa type. You can use multiple methods to pay. And for me personally, I received the verification email that I'd actually completed the application immediately.

And then within 48 hours, my visa has been approved. So 48 hour turnaround time is pretty good. You don't have to upload vaccine certificates or QR codes. It's a very, very simple application process. So Vietnamese government, if you're watching well done. After two years of confusion, you've definitely redeemed yourself here.

What the requirements are for you to enter Vietnam:

So once you've got your e-visa sorted, You will need to get a negative COVID test to travel to Vietnam. Now you've got two options that can either be a PCR test taken within 72 hours of your flight to Vietnam or a rapid test taken within 24 hours of your flight to Vietnam.

So I'm going to go and get a rapid test on the 24th, the day before I fly. It would seem so as long as you can show a negative test PCR or rapid test, that is no quarantine on arrival, whether you're vaccinated or unvaccinated. Which is a first here in Southeast Asia, Well done Vietnam setting the new rules. you are also required to have insurance to cover you for 10,000 US dollars is what I'm reading. I'm sure there's plenty of options out there. And you've also got to install an app on your phone. A COVID tracking app, I believe here is what it is, and also to fill out a health decorator law declaration on arrival to Vietnam. Now, obviously I'm yet to do these steps.

I'm traveling to Vietnam in seven days from now. And then once I arrive I'll report on exactly what the journey was like, but for now it seems fairly simple. So to summarize guys, if you're not qualifying for visa exemption, you can apply for the e-visa. If you're from the list of 80 countries, and in order to travel, you need a negative COVID test. That can be either a PCR within 72 hours or a rapid test within 24 hours, as long as that's negative. There's no need to quarantine once you arrive. So there you have it guys, if you are traveling to Vietnam, let me know in the comments.
